Wounded Warrior Project, Part III - Mind, Body, Engagement, and Economic Empowerment Programs for Veterans...

Hi Everyone,
Just a couple of days left for the NYC Veterans Day Parade and I had mentioned I wanted to inform you more about the Wounded Warrior Project and the programs that they have that help empower veterans. Part of feeling healthy as I mentioned before is taking an overall approach on one's health both mentally and physically but also emotionally. Being with people that "get you" so to speak. Or at least being around people that you don't have to explain yourself, a safe place where you can be yourself and just be. This is an important aspect to becoming empowered and with that mentioned, it is no surprise that the WWP has a program that does just that for our veterans. That program is "Project Odyssey" and it is essentially a outdoor retreat where veterans are encouraged to connect with their peers, staff, trained counselors and nature. If you take a peek at the videos below, you'll see how much this experience helps veterans through their journey. What is especially wonderful is that WWP has retreats for female veterans. This is super fabulous as when one mentions "veterans" or "warrior" for the most part what comes to mind is a big tough burly guy but it's good to know that WWP recognizes all the veterans - women included. :)
