Wounded Warrior Project, Part II - Mind, Body, Engagement, and Economic Empowerment Programs for Veterans...

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. In the spirit of Veterans Day (or should I say Veterans week :), I just wanted to keep blogging about the Wounded Warrior Project. Yesterday I gave you an introduction to two of their four programs which they have to empower veterans. Today, I wanted to tell you about the other two programs; those being Economic Engagement and Body. When one thinks of  "health" usually the things that come to mind are those pertaining to the physical aspects of ones being but in this instance WWP recognized that health also includes one's unique talents of how we are are able to financially take care of ourselves and our families. In other words, what are they going to do for a living? How are they going to get an education that will help them in pursuing the career of their choice? This is all part of the Economic Engagement Program.
The other program that they look at is called the Body where they take veterans to various sport activities and have them participate. I know that probably seems like a quite a simple concept but after viewing the video of this program, you will easily recognize that for participating veterans it is actually quite a profound and meaningful experience. The reason being is that not only does this build up their morale but also lets them see that technically speaking anything is still possible and that they can still live a good quality of life. It may be a little different from how they were previously living but non the less hope is not lost. Take a peek below and stay tuned for tomorrow when I inform you a little bit more of the WWP and their work...
