Well last week and this week was definitely a week full of insight. I spent a lot of time with local veterans and was able to hear their stories which were filled with such a different perspective of seeing things and life itself. We my be struggling, but we really do have it pretty good here in the US - especially as a woman. I am grateful now more then ever of the things I do have but more so just the fact that I have many "options" in life. I suppose this week is also appropriate to be grateful as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day (and a four day weekend!) I am happy to share with you that this Wednesday the town if Islips will be welcoming back a local Marine from his 3rd deployment. I'm really happy for him and his family as this Thanksgiving there will be a lot of smiley faces :)
"On Wednesday Night Nov 23rd, come join the US Veterans MC, Blue Star Mom's, Soldiers Angels, and other Veteran Support Organizations as they Welcome Home LCpl William Fitzpatrick, a Local Marine from his 3rd deployment. After a Welcome Home Ceremony by the Town of Islips Hometown Hero Program there will be a motorcycle escort to his Coram residence. We will be staged at the Airport Diner (at entry to airport on Vets Hwy) at 1845 hrs (6:45pm) and wait for the call from Airport Security to proceed to the Airport."
