Come join me at the Northport Veterans Hospital and view a Replica of the Dignity Memorial Wall

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give an update on this weekends' event - which is being at the Northport Veterans hospital for the ceremony of the Dignity Memorial Wall. For those of you that may not what this is; it is a traveling replica of the Washington D.C. Memorial Wall. Below is a video of the arrival and all the volunteers who worked so hard to get it up for everyone to be able to see it. Hope you can join me on Saturday. Oct. 29
Morning: Presentation of colors and flag raising ceremony hosted by East Northport Boy Scout Troop 52. The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Arlene Adams-Cataldo (Vietnam Veteran)and the National Anthem will be sung by Kathleen Ryan with an invocation by Chaplain Rabbi Paul Swerdlow. Keynote address will be given by John J. Toomey.
Noon: Blessing of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Garden Stone. Reverend Monsignor Charles Fink, the author of “Bury Me with Soldiers,” will unveil the stone now displaying his beautiful moving poem written many years ago.
1 p.m.: Reading of the names of Nassau and Suffolk patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapters 11 and 82.
5 p.m.: Dance tribute performed by Anita’s Studio of Dance and Theater Arts.
6 p.m.: The US Coast Guard Auxiliary Band will perform, VVA Chapter 82 President Paul Masi will sing the Pledge of Allegiance, Rabbi Paul Swerdlow will give an invocation, and American Gold Star Mother Michele McNaughton will give a POW/MIA remembrance. Welcoming remarks by Charles Spencer, Dignity Memorial, Richard Kitson, President VVA Chapter 11, Philip Moschitta, Director Northport VAMC, Town of Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone, and Keynote Address by the Honorable Timothy Bishop, US House of Representatives.
Oct. 30
10 a.m.: Ecumenical prayer service led by Chaplain Rabbi Paul Swerdlow with local Long Island clergy. The National Anthem will be performed by the Northport High School Tour Choir and Benediction by Reverend John Malone.
3 p.m.: Closing ceremonies. Another dance performance by Anita’s School of Dance and "Women of the Wall" will be read by Joan Furey, a Vietnam Veteran. Keynote Speaker will be the Honorable Steve Israel, U.S. House of Representatives. In keeping with tradition, the grand finale will be the Vietnam
Veterans standing at attention during "Big Shot" cover band singer Mike Delgiudice's performance of Billy Joel’s “Miss Saigon.”
5 p.m.: Close
