Tour of Duty Journal
Week 7, Day 3
Ok, almost at the finish line! I can't believe it; next week will be my last week for my Tour of Duty. I'm excited as I really didn't think I would get this far. I didn't even think I was going to finish. Can't believe how fast time goes by. I am seriously kicking some serious major booty! I'm getting so much better every day I go. I really think if I keep coming for the 6 month maintenance I'll definitely see change. I just can't imagine at least not seeing a 5 pound difference - not possible! I just have to keep practicing going and yes, as much as it's not my favorite thing to do...practice doing the squat thrusts correctly. Well at least really try. Even though they are not my favorite exercises something tells me that squats thrusts are what probably will help me get a stronger tummy.
Speaking of tummy, I think this week is unusual as it seems the entire week has been "Ab days." I can't help but notice that we have been focusing on the tummy exercises every day this week. We did more of those tummy twisters but this time with the cross bar and I was doing my best not to giggle again. Then we had to hold the cross bar and reach for our toes as we lay flat on our backs. Star jumps, we did those today (secretly those are starting to be my favorite as I always imagine myself jumping and reaching lots of rhinestone stars!) We then went back to running and we had to carry those sandbags. They said to run but those bags are just so heavy! Anyhoo, as for my list of things that I am going to be Dara Torres Determined to achieve..here is a portion of some of my cards that are on the table so far...
1) Reach my desired size of 0/2
2)Be healthy in every aspect, specifically my eating habits (have a regular meal routine)
3)Strengthen my core
4)"Lifestyle change" for the long term
5)Being that all this is directly linked to my self-esteem in some way, I have to do well- period.
6)Have no chestnut excuses for laziness
7)Visualize myself where I want to be (Ms. United States or Ms. Galaxy here I come!)
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."
- Vince Lombardi
The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won't.
~Henry Ward Beecher
