Tour of Duty Journal
Week 7, Day 4
Ok, this is it! So close to my last week until I cross the finish line of my Tour of Duty! Only four days left and I can say I finished all this craziness. Wow, to think that the first day I started I could barely do 1 sit up. And today I am running with all these tires and able to keep up with the guys in the class! yay for me! Today was the last day of the week but none the less it was still pretty brutal as it was all non-stop. We were going at such intensity that it didn't feel like 60 minutes. Time just went by so fast today. For the most part it wasn't a bad thing as after the class was done I had to "rest" in the tent for 5 minutes before attempting to move again.
Anyhow, we were going back and forth on the course today. At first we were doing our mt. climbers, star jumpers, and working with the canteens as weight. Then we had to run to the course and do pull ups with the cross bars. Back and forth and back and forth then running with the sandbags. At one point I really thought it was just a morning dream and I hadn't woken up. But soon realized that I was at bootcamp and yes it was 5:30 in the morning! I was able to climb up the net and I have to say it's really fun. It felt like rock climbing but one definitely has to have more control of balance otherwise you'll literally "fall through." When we were finally done at the end of the class the entire platoon got punished because one of our platoon members didn't remember/didn't know any of the leadership principles. Not fun we ended up doing 40 sit ups at the rock wall. Originally it was supposed to be 20. But I finished... barley but I finished! Speaking of finishing, this weekend is going to be busy getting my blue print plan together. I really want to finish my goal boards and have all the goals that I want to accomplish set before I start the 6 month maintenance. My plan is to have everything together before next week ends because as they say time is of the essence and I want to make sure I set myself up to do well. I also want to mentally prepare myself as I know even though I have improved from where I started, I still have a long, long road to go. Before I start I really feel in order for me to get back to my size 0/2, I need to be "mentally there" as I know if my mind is focused and clear of where I am going there really isn't any reason that I will fail. If it works for Dara Torres, I don't see why it can't work for me! And finally, I think I have decided the pageant that I would like to be a contestant for. I think it will be for Ms. United States. I figure if we're going to do this, we're going full throttle bootcamp style and shooting for the moon!
"Visualize this thing you want. See it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blueprint the map to get you there and begin."
- Robert Collier
"One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular."
- Tony Robbins
