St. Patricks Day - Signing Up Veterans with the Wounded Warrior Project

Hi Everyone,
Happy be-lated St. Patricks Day! What a wonderful St. Patricks Day I had. We finally had beautiful spring weather here in NYC! Luck was on my side as I was fortunate to spend the day with one of my favorite veterans organizations, the Wounded Warrior Project. I was super excited for this event because my mission at this event was to help sign up as many veterans as possible for their programs. This event was pretty important as I knew the more veterans that signed up the closer we are to having them all be happy, healthy and well adjusted. This means a lot to me as personally I have seen how difficult it can be for military families when things are the opposite and I truly believe that we as a society regardless what we may think of the politics, cannot turn a blind eye and look the other way and ignore veterans when they come back - especially if they may need that help to re-adjust.
It has nothing to do with politics more so that America is a country coined "the land of opportunity" not because we are entitled or any better then anyone else in the world but simply because soooo many people for many years have worked to keep it that way. The freedom/liberty we have (especially speaking from a woman's point of view) is not because of the protesters that wanted change but more so the veteran that was securing this country to allow them to protest. The educational and life opportunities that we choose to pursue isn't due to the institutions that provide that but more so the veteran that has kept America a place where education is available to all those that choose to acquire it. And lastly, the quality of life that we are able to live on daily basis isn't due to the politicians that create laws on how we live, but instead the veteran that allows us to vote on how we would like to live. So with that mentioned, I finish this blog and hope that somehow I've given an insight to just how lucky we are and also why we as a society need to be aware and care for the women, men and K-9 teams that allow us all this. As the saying goes, freedom isn't free...Something to think about...

Wounded Warrior Holiday Party In New York! :)

Hello Everyone!
Wow! It's beeen soo long since I last blogged. Unfortunately I had to replace my iMac so that was the delay in keeping up with my blogging. But good news is that is all behind us now and yes, I am back to my blogging. So without further delay lets's get started! I wanted to blog about a wonderful holiday event that I was invited to. I know, it's a little bit late to write about but none the less I thought it would be great to blog about. This is one of my favorite Veterans organizations simply because their approach on helping Veterans adjusting back really is on key. The Wounded Warrior Project empower Veterans by having four different programs: Mind, Body, Economic Empowerment, and Engagement.
Below are some pics of their holiday party - hope you enjoy the pics and I'll write again this weekend :) Cheers, nency
