I'm Nency Escamilla. Ms. New York United States 2011. This is my official Blogcast for my year of service as Ms. New York United States! Here you will be able to find the latest and greatest exciting news on my appearances, my personal thoughts on topics, and of course get a glimpse of New York and the wonderful people that reside here.
I am super excited to share all the news with you but first let me start by saying how amazing this journey so far has been. It all started out many,many months ago as just a small dream and a hope to be able to have the opportunity to prepare for Ms. United States 2011. The fact that I am here right now writing a blog about it is not only a humbling experience but also one that I embrace with excitement as I know these "moments" that life brings forth are to be cherished since they will not be repeated. "Life is not a dress rehearsal." With that mentioned, I intend to take full advantage of this title by using it to uplift and make a positive influence within the community.
There is a lot of power in that sparkling tiara and when used to uplift the community there can be some pretty amazing things that occur but none is more important then going forward and "making things better" - especially for those that have been forgotten or simply need to be heard. Which in my opinion, is quite exciting! So exciting that it brings me to tell you about my official charity platform, "Uplifitng Heros." What is it about? Who are these Heros? How can we uplift them? And why would we want to uplift them? Who are they??? Well, that my friends I'll have to tell you in my next blog, but until then stay happy and true to oneself as who else would you be...
